I rise to pay tribute to Tom Snow, the outgoing convener of Equality Australia. I pay tribute to him and his enormous contribution to the marriage equality campaign and the way he translated the infrastructure of the 'yes' campaign with Anna Brown into firm leadership for LBGTIQ+ rights across the nation.

I congratulate Tom on his marriage to Doug Pengilly just yesterday. It's a wonderful thing, having been able to use those laws that we fought for to get married myself in June this year.

On behalf of everyone here who has worked with Tom, we say, 'Thank you.' We know you will continue to make an enormous contribution to our nation as you are already doing in your philanthropy work, particularly in medicine and medical research. I salute you.
