In early November, Troy Buswell said that a request for the Australian Government to allocate funding to upgrade the Bindi Bindi Curves section of the Great Northern Highway was "gathering dust" on Minister Albanese's desk.
That's a lie.
The Australian Government approved a $16 million contribution to the project. Then, the State Government decided the project would cost twice as much - $40 million - so now Minister Albanese's Department is assessing their new request.
Statewide, the Australian Government is investing a record $3.7 billion in WA's hospitals, roads and rail infrastructure. Labor is doing this because we know that we need to invest to help Western Australia grow and cope with the pressures of the mining boom.
Yet, the WA Liberals haven't mentioned a cent of that money in their taxpayer funded "Get the Bigger Picture" advertising, even though many of those projects wouldn't have gone ahead without Commonwealth dollars.
It's clear that Troy Buswell and Colin Barnett will say and do anything to get themselves re-elected, including blaming the Australian Government for their own stuff ups.
But, we know what the real picture is here in WA under Colin Barnett: congested roads, higher power bills and a struggling health system.
