Senator Louise Pratt welcomed Alannah Mac Tiernan as the new candidate for the Federal seat of Perth. Senator Pratt said “that it was important that Western Australia had strong representation in the Federal Parliament. The inclusion of Alannah as the candidate for Perth would give a strong boost to the WA Labor team.”
Alannah’s strong record of delivering major infrastructure projects in WA has already carved out a place for her in history as a no nonsense person that gets things done, Senator Pratt said.
Her strong and outspoken nature will be a great asset in Canberra and will help ensure that WA is at the forefront on every decision.
Senator Pratt said she was appalled that Don Randall would seek to denigrate Alannah’s candidacy based on her age and so called attacks from ALP power brokers.
“His remarks were simply a political ploy to try and denigrate a formidable candidate. To use her age simply shows how they have nothing with which to attack her record. The simple truth is that Alanna Mac Tiernan continues to display more energy and dynamism than Don Randall could ever muster”, Senator Pratt said.
Adrian Evans Labor’s candidate for Hasluck said, “Alannah Mac Tiernan’s strong record of delivering for the State and for Perth’s eastern suburbs would give him a boost. He also said Alannah had the support of all Labor Party members in WA”
Senator Pratt and Adrians Evans both said they look forward to working with Alanna and know she will be a powerful voice not only for the people of Perth but for the State of Western Australia.
